  1. SEEDING DOES NOT PRODUCE AN INSTANT LAWN AND REQUIRES A LOT OF CARE AND PATIENCE. THE SEED WILL DIE IF NOT WATERED PROPERLY!
  2. 1st Week: You will most likely see very little to no grass.

    2nd Week: You should start to see grass growing and may see weeds growing, too. Do not spray or put down chemicals at this time – you may kill the new grass.

    Weeks 3-7: The grass will thicken and is ready to cut when it is at least 3 inches high. Make sure the lawn is dry and raise the blades on the mower to create less stress on the grass.
  3. Seed must be watered twice a day for at least the first month. After the first month, water once a day. Water frequently and lightly with a mist to keep the seed moist, but do not saturate! Too much water can rot the seeds or wash them away.
    Whether hand watering, using a sprinkler system or hose, we strongly advise that you perform a visual inspection after watering to ensure that all areas of your lawn are receiving coverage.
  4. You WILL get weeds. No matter how healthy the seed is, weed seed will blow in the wind and germinate on your lawn. Summer months tend to produce the most weeds. Wait at least 6 months after installation to apply a weed application. Please consult with a licensed chemical company for chemical treatments.
  5. There are many factors that can hinder the growth of new seed. The time of year and amount of light can have a great effect on the results of seeding. On most occasions, a second application of seed will need to be applied because of shifting of seed due to wind or water. Seeding a lawn can take up to ONE full year to achieve stellar results.
  6. *It is very important to contact your lawn maintenance company and chemical company and provide them with these crucial instructions highlighted above in bold.
